Allstate

Provides auto, home, life, and other insurance products and financial protection services to individuals and businesses across the U.S.

User Experience Designer

At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life's uncertainties. And for more than 90 years, our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers' evolving needs. From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection.

Your role in the team

The User Experience Designer is responsible for leading efforts in applying knowledge of human capabilities, technology, industry design best practices, and standards to create user interfaces for Allstate digital products. As a User Experience Designer, you will collaborate on cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes in service of Allstate customers. You will join the Sales UX team—an experienced, highly skilled group of designers—working closely with product, engineering, journey designers, and business partners to deliver cohesive, customer-centered digital experiences that support Allstate's sales strategy.

Key responsibilities

Produce user-centered designs that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility, ensuring high-quality UI/UX outcomes across digital products.

Plan and conduct qualitative user research—including user interviews, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and iterative design assessments—to validate concepts and inform design decisions.

Apply human-centered design methods and tools to analyze ambiguous problems, generate insights, and create effective design solutions with minimal oversight.

Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs using tools, ensuring smooth handoffs and alignment with engineering teams.

Collaborate independently with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure design intent is upheld through implementation and that user experience standards are consistently met.

Present design recommendations, research findings, and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, securing alignment and support throughout the design lifecycle.

Use foundational knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand engineering constraints and improve design feasibility and implementation quality.

Contribute to team process improvements and advocate for UX best practices, design consistency, and accessible interfaces across projects.

Proactively manage workload, identify risks, communicate scope changes, and maintain strong adherence to the UX design process to ensure timely delivery.

All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy.

Desirable skills

Experience using prototyping and motion tools, such as Principle, After Effects, Framer, or Protopie, to communicate advanced interactions.

Experience collaborating with development teams using tools like Zeplin, Storybook, or code-based prototyping approaches.

Strong proficiency with design tools Sketch, Adobe XD, or related.
