Manager User Experience Research & Design
The Manager, UX Research & Design guides and develops a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality user experiences across Amadeus Hospitality products. This role shapes UX strategy, aligns research and design practices, supports the growth of UX maturity, and fosters effective collaboration with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders. You will be responsible for supporting team performance, professional growth, and long-term capability development in alignment with user and business needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction, constructive critique, and quality oversight to support high-quality design outcomes.
- Ensure alignment with user experience (UX) principles, accessibility standards, and the design system.
- Influence product scope and prioritization using research insights, data, and design frameworks.
Promote early UX involvement across the full product lifecycle.
- Identify and plan for resource needs in alignment with product roadmaps and domain priorities.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, leadership, and customers to contribute to product direction and experience outcomes.
Define and align on research strategy, guide methodologies, and ensure insights are actionable and credible.
- Increase visibility and understanding of UX research across product teams and leadership.
Encourage continuous learning, adaptability, and development within the team.
- Establish shared expectations, role clarity, and career paths for team members.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback through regular one-to-one discussions.
- Support the development of competencies in research, design, communication, strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Delegate thoughtfully and create opportunities for designers and researchers to take ownership of initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Interaction Design, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Information Design, Computer Science, Business or Management, or a related field.
- Experience in User Experience, combining design, research, and cross-functional delivery.
- Experience guiding UX teams, including designers, researchers, writers, or design operations.
- Demonstrated experience contributing UX leadership in complex software-as-a-service (SaaS) environments, including business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), or enterprise workflows.
- Experience designing for multi-platform ecosystems such as web, mobile, customer relationship management (CRM) platforms (e.g., Salesforce), or operational tools.
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and business partners to influence strategy and roadmaps.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced interaction and systems design skills, with experience using Figma or equivalent design tools.
- Solid understanding of information architecture, prototyping, usability testing, and accessibility best practices.
- Clear and effective communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and engage senior stakeholders constructively.
- Understanding of design systems and how to scale user experiences across products.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work across geographies and disciplines.
- Clear ownership and accountability.
