We help guide the organization through the rapid transformation of the information age by harnessing data, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive data-informed competitive advantage. We develop analytics software products that apply machine learning, artificial intelligence, and mathematical optimization to support strategic decision-making across the business.

As a Data Scientist, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics products that optimize vehicle content strategy. You will work closely with fellow Data Scientists and Software Engineers to build robust, scalable analytics solutions, while partnering with Marketing teams to ensure alignment with business needs. This role requires strong quantitative expertise, solid Python development skills, fluency with cloud-based data ecosystems (particularly GCP), and a passion for applying modern AI techniques to real-world decision systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop machine learning, statistical, and optimization models to support vehicle content strategy.
  • Translate complex business problems into mathematical, statistical, and algorithmic frameworks, including: discrete choice modeling and optimization and market simulation methods.
  • Write high-quality, well-structured Python code for modeling, analysis, and experimentation.
  • Query, manage, and analyze large datasets using GCP tools (e.g., BigQuery).
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers to transition analytic models into production systems aligned with Ford's data architecture and MLOps standards.
  • Conduct model validation, sensitivity testing, and performance monitoring to ensure accuracy, robustness, and business relevance.
  • Communicate analytical results clearly and credibly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Research and apply emerging methods in AI, machine learning, econometrics, and optimization to enhance and evolve analytics products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of academic or professional experience in advanced analytics, including one or more of the following: mathematical optimization, machine learning, statistical/econometric modeling, artificial intelligence.
  • 1+ year of experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud-based data environments (e.g., GCP).
  • Proficiency in Python for analytical and modeling workflows.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear insights and documentation for stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in a quantitative field (strongly preferred).
  • Experience deploying advanced analytics or machine learning models into production environments in partnership with software engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted analytic approaches (e.g., search space reduction, scenario exploration).
  • Experience working in Agile or product-driven development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud ecosystems.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Curious, proactive mindset with interest in emerging tools and methodologies.

Role Scope & Impact:

This position contributes to high-impact analytical engines that influence product strategy decisions across North American vehicle programs. Success in this role requires balancing quantitative rigor with practical problem-solving and a forward-looking approach to integrating modern AI techniques.
