We are currently seeking a Principal Product Development Scientist to join our client's team in the Lakeville, MA area. This is a permanent opportunity offering a dynamic work environment and the chance to lead cutting-edge product innovation initiatives.

As the Principal Product Development Scientist, you will spearhead the development of new and optimized food products that align with consumer trends and business strategies. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to conceptualize, formulate, and commercialize products that deliver distinct competitive advantages. This role involves hands-on bench development, pilot-scale testing, and strategic presentations to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the design, development, and commercialization of new products and product improvements.
• Conducting bench-level prototype development and pilot-scale testing.
• Ensuring products meet sensory, quality, and consumer success criteria.
• Formulating reproducible and robust products that meet cost, quality, and operational requirements.
• Managing multiple projects and technical timelines effectively.
• Performing competitive and feasibility assessments.
• Conducting costing exercises throughout the product lifecycle.
• Presenting concepts and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Contributing to ideation sessions and portfolio-building initiatives.
• Traveling up to 15% to support commercialization at manufacturing plants.

Qualifications include:

• Strong foundation in Food Science and technical acumen.
• Proven ability to work in lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing environments.
• Acute sensory evaluation skills.
• Ability to apply scientific principles to solve complex problems creatively.
• Experience formulating products that meet business and consumer needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
