Product Manager

Our beauty retail client is seeking a Product Manager to join their AI / GenAI Product Team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including software engineering, data/GenAI engineering, marketing, operations, and more—to execute on the strategic roadmap for their 2025 initiatives. A key focus of this role is supporting the development of an Agentic Shopping Experience, which leverages GenAI and LLMs to create intelligent, conversational, and personalized shopping journeys. You'll ensure technology teams have clear requirements, specifications, and designs, and help resolve ambiguities through close collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders. You'll also oversee delivery quality, prioritize enhancements, and manage defect resolution in partnership with development teams. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI-driven retail experiences.

As a Product Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Execute the product roadmap and create buy-in across key stakeholders, including initiatives that enable AI-powered agents to assist customers in product discovery, decision-making, and checkout.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to refine requirements, define enhancements, and determine prioritization based on business impact, need, and investment required—especially for features that support conversational commerce and intelligent recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain successful partnerships with Developers, UX and Design to work through all interaction details, ensuring seamless integration of LLM-driven user interfaces and agent interactions.
  • Work closely with Project Management and IT organizations for sprint and board management processes, including those supporting GenAI-powered customer journeys.
  • Align with cross-functional teams comprised of both business roles and technical development during the life cycle of product development, with a focus on agentic workflows and AI-driven personalization.
  • Champion the needs of business/marketing teams; develop detailed requirements and feature definitions; partner with IT on development, testing & implementation plans, as well as internal communications & deployment plans—especially for features that enable autonomous agents to guide users through shopping tasks.
  • Participate in daily review, triage, and prioritization of bugs, including those affecting agentic interactions and GenAI outputs.
  • Attend daily standup meetings to ensure alignment on AI feature delivery and agent performance metrics.
  • At the beginning of a sprint cycle, identify user stories for consideration and help negotiate which stories get played and which move to a future sprint—prioritizing those that enhance agentic capabilities and user trust.
  • Throughout a sprint cycle, monitor the JIRA boards and reports to ensure Product is helping Engineers and QA get the information they need to work fluidly on stories and bugs, especially those related to LLM tuning, prompt engineering, and agent behavior.
  • Communicate updates and process changes to the broader Product Management Team and proactively identify issues, risks, and associated mitigation—particularly those impacting AI reliability, hallucination risks, and user experience.
  • Partner with Product Management and business teams to develop metrics to measure success of program features, analyze results, and develop action plans and enhancement recommendations—especially for agentic shopping KPIs such as engagement, conversion, and satisfaction.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Superior relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills within cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to identify and understand user problems related to both the internal and external client and recommend practical solutions—especially in the context of AI-driven customer interactions.
  • Some understanding of the front-end capabilities of e-commerce, mobile apps, and websites is a good plus—particularly those involving chat interfaces, voice assistants, and agentic flows.
  • Familiarity with LLM (Large Language Models) and GenAI technologies is not required, but would be significantly preferred—critical for supporting agentic shopping features.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a product backlog, launching features to end-users. Having done this on LLM or chatbot related products is a great plus.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA for backlog management and sprint planning.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with a focus on delivering high-quality AI-powered shopping experiences.
  • Enthusiasm for staying updated on the latest trends and advancements in AI and GenAI, and the ability to apply this knowledge to enhance eCommerce products—especially those involving autonomous agents and intelligent shopping assistants.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to ferret out the simple, practical solution over the complicated.
  • Ability to be nimble and flexible with regards to changing priorities & business needs, and in working with diverse teams & people.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines — excellent at prioritization, planning, task delegation, and working with peers in a cross-functional setting.
  • Highly motivated, self-sufficient, and able to operate effectively without close supervision.
  • Familiarity with Agile Product Development.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS Office, communication platforms (Slack, MS Teams, ZOOM), and other industry-standard tools.
  • 2–5+ years experience in product management with a successful history of launching highly effective digital products.
  • BA/BS. Prior experience in a retail/eCommerce environment highly preferred.
