Position Summary
The Collections Technology Product Owner is responsible for leading the development, enhancement, and strategic direction of the bank's Collections technology platforms, with a primary focus on AWS Connect and CACS X. This role partners closely with stakeholders across Collections, Technology, Operations, Data & Analytics, and Business Intelligence to define priorities, deliver platform capabilities, and support advanced reporting and analytics needs. The position plays a key role in platform modernization, data integration into domain services, and the creation of data products that enable actionable insights and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for AWS Connect and CACS X, aligned with Collections objectives, enterprise data strategy, and customer experience goals.
- Identify modernization opportunities and ensure platforms evolve to meet business and regulatory needs.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Collections Operations, Technology, Data & Analytics, Risk, Compliance, and Domain teams to gather requirements, understand challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate communication across teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
Product Ownership
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AWS Connect and CACS X.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring timely delivery of features, integrations, and data capabilities.
- Provide ongoing guidance to development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Data Integration & Domain Enablement
- Lead initiatives to integrate critical Collections data into enterprise domain services (e.g., Account, Card, Loan domains).
- Design and support real-time and batch data integration patterns between Collections platforms and enterprise systems.
Data Product Development
- Develop and manage data products supporting advanced Collections reporting, including delinquency analytics, roll rates, cure rates, contact effectiveness, payment arrangements, and liquidation performance.
- Ensure data products meet business intelligence, operational, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Requirements & Compliance
- Conduct detailed analysis of business requirements, regulatory considerations, and reporting needs.
- Ensure platform capabilities and data products comply with applicable regulations (FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, and others).
Agile Delivery
- Work with Agile development teams to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and data requirements.
- Monitor progress, address impediments, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery.
Platform Expertise
- Serve as a subject matter expert on AWS Connect (contact flows, Lambda integrations, Contact Lens, routing) and CACS X (workflows, treatment strategies, case management, reporting).
User Experience
- Advocate for a user-centered approach by conducting research, gathering feedback, and supporting usability improvements for Collections agents and analysts.
Product Launch & Adoption
- Partner with leadership, training, and change management teams to plan and execute platform releases and data product rollouts.
- Develop adoption strategies to maximize utilization and value.
Performance Monitoring
- Define and track KPIs to measure platform performance, data quality, and reporting effectiveness.
- Analyze trends and recommend enhancements.
Industry & Regulatory Awareness
- Stay informed on Collections technology trends, AWS innovations, analytics best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Share insights to support continuous improvement and innovation.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate risks related to platform functionality, data products, data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, computer science, data analytics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience as a Product Owner or similar role within Collections, Contact Center technology, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of AWS Connect (contact flows, Lambda, Lex, Contact Lens, omni-channel capabilities).
- Experience with Collections platforms such as CACS X or comparable systems (e.g., FICO Debt Manager, Latitude, Experian PowerCurve).
- Demonstrated experience integrating data between operational systems and domain services/data warehouses.
- Proven ability to build data products supporting complex reporting and analytics, particularly in Collections or Credit Risk.
- Strong understanding of Collections processes (delinquency management, treatment strategies, payment arrangements, skip tracing, legal processes, charge-off procedures).
- Experience with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data literacy skills.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, etc.).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, SCRA, state licensing).
- Familiarity with API integration patterns, event-driven architectures, and real-time data streaming.
Preferred
- Experience implementing or migrating AWS Connect in Collections or Contact Center environments.
- Hands-on experience with CACS X configuration, workflows, and reporting.
- Background in Collections operations, analytics, or business intelligence.
- Knowledge of domain-driven design and microservices architecture.
- Experience with data lake/data warehouse technologies and dimensional modeling
