Sr. Product Manager, Promotions

A leading multinational retailer is seeking a Senior Product Manager for a 6-month contract engagement to support a major expansion of its targeted and personalized promotions platform. This is an execution-focused role where you will be embedded with an engineering team to translate business vision into detailed, engineering-ready user stories. You will step into a project already in development and be responsible for driving the team from requirements clarification to engineering execution with speed and precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Product Manager embedded with the engineering pod, participating in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint execution.
• Write detailed user stories and feature definitions to break down existing requirements into engineering-ready detail.
• Drive cross-functional teams comprised of business and technical roles to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
• Collaborate with internal business partners to clarify, redefine, and add detail to requirements.
• Partner with the retail POS team to define and align on omni-channel promotion requirements.
• Coordinate with data and reporting teams to support downstream analytics and measurement needs.
• Vet scope, requirements, use cases, and design specifications, proactively identifying gaps and risks.
• Operate independently after an initial ramp-up period, running meetings and moving work forward without daily oversight.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience in a retail, e-commerce, or promotions environment.
• Deep understanding of retail and/or e-commerce promotions, including mechanics for offer types like dollar-off, percent-off, points, GWP, shipping, and payment-based offers.
• Proven ability to write detailed user stories and drive requirements from ambiguity to clarity.

Skills

• Senior-level, execution-oriented mindset with experience working closely with engineers.
• Superior cross-functional collaboration skills to drive conversations across POS, data, engineering, and business teams.
• Ability to operate independently and effectively without close supervision after initial onboarding.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Talon.One, specifically promotion setup, customization, and template definition.
• Experience with ATG or similar commerce and promotions platforms.
• An interest in learning and engaging with AI technologies.
