Description

Reporting to the Carrier Sales Director, this Account Lead role sits at the heart of Apple's Carrier Sales organization. You will own and grow strategic partnerships with key carrier account across all Apple lines of business — iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, accessories and beyond — while leading a team of talented account managers to deliver results that neither side could achieve alone. This is not a role for someone who is content with maintaining the status quo. We are looking for a leader who sets an ambitious vision, energizes the people around them, and has the tenacity to drive initiatives through to completion — even in the face of complexity, ambiguity, or resistance. You will need to operate on two horizons simultaneously: executing short-term commercial opportunities with precision, while architecting the partnerships and platforms that will define Apple's carrier relationships in longer term.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep, nuanced understanding of each carrier's corporate strategy, investment priorities, and competitive pressures within the telecoms market.
  • Identify and articulate the strategic intersection between each carrier's growth agenda and Apple's product and services roadmap — and turn that intersection into a compelling, co-owned partnership plan.
  • Leverage competitive carrier dynamics and market trends as catalysts to drive urgency, secure share-of-wallet, and accelerate Apple's positioning in consumer and enterprise offers.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships at executive and operational levels across each carrier organization, becoming the partner they turn to first when strategic decisions are made.
  • Ensure competitive positioning of the full Apple ecosystem (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Accessories, Services, etc.) within all carrier offers and channel programs.
  • Lead both short-term operational plans and long-term strategic initiatives in parallel — maintaining sharp commercial discipline on quarterly targets without losing sight of the mid to long-term opportunity.
  • Design and execute tactical activation plans — promotional programs, launch activations, channel incentives — that deliver measurable near-term sales impact.
  • Simultaneously drive strategic workstreams — new agreement structures, ecosystem expansion, digital platform deployments — that strengthen Apple's position with each carrier over the long term.
  • Manage compliance with all commercial and contractual obligations, proactively identifying gaps and turning them into year-over-year improvement opportunities.
  • Work with and through Apple cross-functional teams (Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal, etc.) to coordinate resources, resolve trading issues, and deliver shared outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of account managers, fostering a culture of ambition, accountability, and resilience.
  • Champion a "never give up" mindset within the team — modeling the tenacity to push through obstacles, iterate on approaches, and sustain momentum until results are achieved.
  • Unlock the full potential of each team member through active mentorship, clear goal-setting, and honest, growth-oriented feedback.
  • Build a team environment where creative problem-solving is celebrated and where people feel empowered to challenge assumptions and bring bold ideas forward.
  • Develop team capability in carrier data analysis, commercial negotiation, and strategic account planning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years of sales management experience or equivalent in wireless account management or a related function
  • Solid understanding of the wireless/telecommunications industry and technologies
  • Proven presentation and communication skills in both Japanese and English, thrive in a fast-paced environment and a culture that relies on teamwork.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with expertise in understanding carrier data, developing creative solutions and execution to get results
  • Demonstrated strengths in relationship management, teaming across functions, deal making & negotiations
  • Expertise in influencing internal and external partners to attain financial approvals and negotiate critical business terms
  • Ability to quickly develop, iterate, and navigate through large scale contracts and agreements in partnership with legal teams
  • Strategic agility: demonstrated ability to identify and drive new opportunities
  • Ability to succeed through ambiguity and get results
  • Experienced in the sales, consulting or technology industries; channel sales exposure is helpful.
  • Practical experience in sales program management, business performance analytics, business operations, or change management.
  • High degree of organizational maturity, a talent for working reciprocally in a matrix- responsibility environment and excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent data analysis, management, and visualization skills.
  • Able to use of industry-standard data analysis and reporting tools including Tableau and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business background (e.g. MBA or equivalent) a plus.
