The Apple Design and Technology Evangelism team helps developers make state-of-the-art apps and games that are innovative, easy to use, and beautifully designed. We are seeking a Design Evangelist for the Worldwide Developer Relations team to help 3rd-party developers adopt Apple's platform design system and technologies. Applying your creativity, experience, and ability to clearly and persuasively communicate ideas and feedback, you'll help developers refine their app designs to be more intuitive, beautiful, and delightful. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to influence how people experience the latest Apple hardware and software capabilities. You'll collaborate with developers from around the world to find new ways for people to learn, create, solve problems, and have fun. The guidance you provide will directly impact the quality of apps enjoyed by millions of people every day. You possess a passion for design, have deep experience designing for one or more Apple platforms, and a proven track record to quickly understand and demonstrate new technologies in your work. You have strong communication and people skills since you'll be presenting in public, collaborating cross-functionally within Apple, and working side-by-side with developers every day. In addition, you will play a key role in refining, extending, and distributing Apple's UI toolkits to empower the global design and developer community to design with the same care and precision that defines Apple. You'll collaborate with Apple's Design, Software Engineering, and Product Marketing teams to ensure our UI kits meet Apple's exacting standards for quality, approachability and ease of use.
As a Design Evangelist, you will:
5–8 years of experience in product design, systems design, or related disciplines
Outstanding written and verbal communication, public speaking and presentation skills
Excellent collaborative and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to forecast schedule, communicate status, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
Strong knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and platform components, principles and conventions
Experience maintaining large-scale design systems or shared resource libraries
High proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Exceptional attention to detail with a strong understanding of layout, color, and typography
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
Experience using latest tools and techniques for automating tasks and quality control
Experience in a variety of industry verticals like health & fitness, education, medical, finance, news, etc. is helpful
Direct experience using Apple SDKs and tools such as SwiftUI, UIKit, AppKit, Xcode, Icon Composer
Familiarity with accessibility concepts and best practices
Passion for Apple's design philosophy and commitment to exceptional user experiences
Motivated, proactive, outgoing, and comfortable working in a loosely structured organization
Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Centered Design, Visual Communication Design, or equivalent experience.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
