Technical Product Manager - Services Pricing Platform

Imagine what you can do here! At Apple, great ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. The Apple Services Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology — these are the people who power the App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud, Fitness+, News+, Books, and Podcasts. And they do it on a massive scale: 2.5+ billion active devices, 850+ million weekly active users on the App Store alone across 175 countries. We're looking for a Technical Product Manager to help design and enhance the platform that governs the availability of over 500 million digital SKUs and calculates content provider payouts. Since 2008, Apple has paid more than $550 billion to App Store developers alone. You'll partner with product, engineering, business operations, legal, tax, and finance to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications. You'll move between long-term platform investments and near-term business initiatives. You'll ensure the features you launch comply with the legal, regulatory, tax, and business requirements that come with operating globally — work that has grown more central each year as digital marketplace regulation accelerates. You'll thrive in this role if: You enjoy solving hard problems, ask questions before assuming, and build trust across functions. You embrace change and adapt as new information surfaces. You obsess over details but know when to seek help. You respect expertise and aren't afraid to share your own. You look for opportunities to build capabilities once and scale them across many lines of business. You hold a high bar for your work and invest in relationships that help you achieve more than you could alone.

Responsibilities

  • Author detailed functional requirements specification documents for engineering and QA
  • Design and refine requirements that scale for changing environments (e.g. regulatory changes, adoption by new lines of business, geographic expansions)
  • Facilitate working sessions that drive technical design decisions across product, engineering, and partner teams
  • Document key decisions, design rationale, and architectural choices so future work can build on them rather than relitigate them
  • Lead projects through to launch, including review of system implementations and user acceptance testing
  • Represent the team as subject matter expert in cross-functional scoping and design discussions, drawing on deep knowledge of the pricing technical stack
  • Partner with legal and compliance to ensure the system adheres to corporate policies, regulations, contractual arrangements, and effective controls

Minimum Qualifications

  • Communicate complex ideas through simple, incisive written and verbal communication, especially translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Advanced analytical rigor developed through prior product, consulting, analytics, engineering, or related work with technical or quantitative scope
  • Working knowledge of databases, data structures, and APIs (read code; not write production code)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders with varying levels of technical understanding
  • 4+ years in technical product/program management, engineering, consulting, or related role with technical scope
  • Bachelor's or Master's in an Engineering discipline, Information Systems, or Computer Science — OR an MBA with engineering/quantitative background — OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Problem structuring experience with ability to break down concepts and identify what truly matters per business objectives
  • Experience designing data models or schemas
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-functional design discussions and drive high quality decisions
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle, especially how requirements flow into engineering implementation, testing, and release
  • Experience with pricing systems, marketplace dynamics, or commerce platforms
  • Experience scaling features across multiple lines of business or geographies
  • Background working on regulatory or compliance-driven product changes
  • AI fluency — using AI tools to accelerate analysis, prototyping, or specification work

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
