Technical Project Manager, Hardware Deployment, Employee Experience & Productivity

The IS&T Services Technology team leads the technology strategy, delivery, and ongoing support of IT systems that enable Apple's Services organization. This team maintains strong alignment between technology and business objectives through cross-functional collaboration, awareness of industry trends, and deep knowledge of the Apple technology ecosystem. Team members partner with leadership, business stakeholders, engineers, vendors, and information security to deliver and sustain a robust technology environment that supports rapid organizational growth.

Description

In this role, you will cultivate strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver strategic sourcing solutions that drive cost savings, elevate quality, and mitigate risk. The ideal candidate is proactive, results-driven, and highly skilled in data analysis, decision influence, and leading end-to-end procurement initiatives for both software and hardware. Demonstrate ownership, exceptional communication abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset are essential for thriving in our dynamic, fast-paced environment. Additionally, you will oversee the imaging and configuration of hardware and software solutions, including setting up and deploying full range of Apple devices using device management tools to ensure end users have fully configured equipment when needed. This also extends to configuring non-Apple devices, such as external hard drives, to meet storage and data transfer demands across various workflows. As part of managing the full device lifecycle, you will ensure that all returned devices are thoroughly wiped, re-imaged, and reconfigured to the required standards before being returned to inventory and redeployed. Strong technical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines and a fast-paced environment are vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze procurement and spend data to uncover trends, highlight cost-saving opportunities, and recommend process improvements.
  • Contribute to sourcing initiatives and manage PR processes.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, oversee contracts, and track pricing agreements.
  • Collaborate with finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, and preparing spend reports.
  • Ensure procurement policies and internal controls are followed.
  • Assist with purchase order processing and resolve procurement-related issues.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.
  • Image and configure devices for deployment to production offices using device management software

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing the hardware lifecycle, including procurement (hardware & software), deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams, overseeing end-to-end vendor operations and balancing business priorities, and driving seamless coordination to ensure consistent, on-time execution of daily deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in spend analytics tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting strategic sourcing or contract negotiations.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and supplier risk management.
  • Familiarity with financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Experience using JAMF, and/or other device configuration and management software to configure computers, phones, and tablets.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in spend analytics tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration experience.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $99,100 and $186,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
