The Designer III, Fire Protection will assist in the design of Fire Suppression, Fire Detection systems, and in Life Safety Code Analysis.
Competent in performing the items of Fire Protection Designer II.
Completes calculations, drawings and specifications related to fire suppression and detection systems for large projects.
Oversees entire lifecycle of large projects as it pertains to fire protection including layout, permit procurement, field surveys, coordination, creation of fabrication lists, answering and assist with field generated questions, RFI creation, and as-builts.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Required.
Two-year certificate from college or technical school in related course work preferred or applicable field experience.
NICET II minimum.
Able to provide basic zone layout and design drawings, calculations, and material submittals.
Effectively communicate projections and issues to managers and project managers.
Able to provide all information to project managers for change orders.
Responsibility for project design budget.
Displays basic management skills.
Shows strong attention to detail in submittals, fabrication drawings and surveys.
