Principal Product Management & Development

Overall Purpose: Responsible for driving the development, execution, and lifecycle management of specific products and services within the AT&T Business portfolio, ensuring alignment with dynamic market needs and strategic business objectives. Leverages an in-depth understanding of AT&T's business product ecosystem and genuine curiosity for customer needs across all segments —residential, small business, large enterprise, and global customers. Champions the creative use of converged or unique product combinations to address evolving customer challenges, setting AT&T apart from competitors. Demonstrates creative problem solving skills, a customer-centric mindset, extensive product-led execution, and organizational maturity. Excels at rallying product team members around a common cause to achieve shared goals. Accountable for business case management and P&L to deliver high-quality, differentiated solutions and maximize customer and business value.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Own and manage the entire product lifecycle for AT&T Business offerings, from concept through development, launch, optimization, and end-of-life. Ensure smooth transitions between stages and ongoing product performance. Oversee budgets, funding requests, and capital processes. Coordinate with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, sales support, and marketing teams as products move to production and distribution. Apply creative problem solving to overcome obstacles and deliver innovative solutions at every stage.
  • Define and Document Requirements: Leverage deep knowledge of AT&T's product portfolio to translate customer feedback and technical requirements into innovative, converged solutions. Prepare and present comprehensive business cases, detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Demonstrate a keen curiosity for the unique needs of each customer segment and identify priorities for new or enhanced products and services. Maintain a strong customer-centric mindset to ensure all solutions deliver tangible value.
  • Conduct Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, addressable revenue potential, and opportunities for differentiated solutions. Analyze customer segments to uncover unmet needs and explore creative product combinations that deliver superior value and competitive advantage. Use insights to drive product-led strategies that anticipate and exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop and Maintain Product Roadmaps: Build and maintain detailed product roadmaps and service guides, ensuring alignment with customer insights and business goals. Track and analyze results, and continuously refine strategies to drive revenue and margin growth through innovative, converged offerings. Demonstrate strong product-led execution by translating vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders and UX Design: Partner closely with business, technology, UX, and third-party teams to ideate, design, and launch products that deliver exceptional user experiences. Collaborate with Global Connectivity Management, Technology Development, Contracting, Legal, Product Marketing, and Pricing teams to develop creative pricing strategies. Negotiate with vendors to optimize product cost structures and feature sets, ensuring AT&T's solutions remain ahead of the market.
  • Team Leadership and Organizational Maturity: Demonstrate organizational maturity by navigating complex environments, managing competing priorities, and fostering a culture of trust and accountability. Inspire, align, and rally existing product team members around a unified vision and common cause. Lead by example, building consensus and motivating teams to deliver results that exceed expectations.

Job Contribution: Recognized as an expert in the AT&T Business portfolio, applying broad business acumen and strategic insight into emerging trends, technologies, and customer behaviors to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. Leads critical, high-impact projects, and designs/implements innovative strategies, often involving converged or unique product combinations. Exhibits creative problem solving skills, a customer-centric approach, extensive experience in product-led execution, and strong organizational maturity. Proven ability to rally and inspire product teams to achieve shared objectives. Works independently, consults with senior leadership, and influences executive decisions. Acts as a mentor and resource for peers, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and creative problem solving.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) desired. 7+ years of related experience. Experience leading large-scale change management initiatives and a proven track record in delivering successful executive-level presentations. Certifications in product management, UX, agile, or Lean are highly desirable.

Our Principal Product Management & Development earns between $158,400 - $237,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
