Global Marketing Manager, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

Waters Biosciences is seeking a dynamic contributor for the role of Global Marketing Manager, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), who will be responsible for leading the global strategy and execution to transition a large install base of legacy instruments to next generation technologies. In this role, you would own the lifecycle of legacy products including sustaining responsibilities, global upgrade programs, and end-of-life (EOL) execution.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, data driven leader capable of influencing cross functional and regional partners to deliver a consistent and customer centric upgrade experience worldwide. The candidate is required to have strong interpersonal skills and work with multiple internal stakeholders to drive highly visible and time-sensitive projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

Product Lifecycle Management & Upgrade Strategy

  • Lead global lifecycle planning for legacy instrument platforms, by managing the legacy portfolio through end-of-life and driving upgrade strategy to next-generation technologies.
  • Own product management of legacy instruments, including sustaining engineering coordination, quality and supply issue triage, product documentation updates, and field support needs.
  • Lead strategy and execution of global legacy install base replacements, including monitoring mechanisms, dashboards, and KPIs to track global progress.

Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration

  • Serve as the global lead for upgrade initiatives, aligning regional commercial teams, sustaining, Operations, and Service to ensure seamless execution.
  • Partner with the global Service organization to implement service pricing strategies that accelerate conversions to new platforms.

Install-Base Insights & Business Performance

  • Analyze global install base replacement performance to identify conversion opportunities, forecast demand, and adjust strategy based on data-driven insights.
  • Implement monitoring mechanisms and reporting tools for visibility of progress worldwide.

Commercial and Marketing Enablement

  • Collaborate with other Global Product and Marketing Managers to deliver sales tools, value calculators, objection handling guides, and evidence to drive upgrades and conversions.
  • Develop and execute the global upgrade roadmap, including segmentation, value propositions, commercial models, trade-in/trade-up programs, marketing materials, and adoption targets.

End-of-Life (EOL) Management

  • Manage global EOL communications, including initial notifications, follow-up communications, customer-facing FAQs, timelines, and service support policies.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Service to optimize Last Time Buy (LTB) strategy, serviceability timelines, and compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of Product Management / PLM / Product Marketing experience within scientific instrumentation, diagnostics, medical devices, or related technology industries.
  • Proven success leading global product transitions or large-scale upgrade programs.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with demonstrated ability to interpret install-base data and drive strategy from insights, utilizing Microsoft Excel and other tools.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with experience aligning diverse global teams.
  • Proficient in SFDC, ServiceMax and Power BI.
  • 25% travel.

Preferred education and experience:

  • Advanced degree (MBA/Masters) a plus.
  • Experience with hardware and software product lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and service driven commercial models.
  • Prior field experience or customer-facing technical experience.

Salary ranges may vary for Field-based and Remote roles.

Salary: $143,300.00 - 236,500.00 USD Annual plus incentives.
