Senior 3D Product Manager
Preference is for hybrid or in-person in Philadelphia.
Position Summary:
Bentley is creating an open platform for the built and natural environment to empower software developers to build digital twin experiences. We believe in advancing the platform for the collective success of the ecosystem and equipping the software developer community with open source and open standards. Our work has a broad reach, ranging from the world's largest construction companies to the US government to FOX Sports on NFL SUNDAY. Cesium has more than 10,000,000 lifetime open-source downloads, and the Cesium ion cloud reaches more than 20,000 monthly active developers. Cesium is in a unique position in the emerging ecosystem of 3D geospatial. Cesium's open-source runtime engines, combined with best-in-class 3D tiling pipelines, provide our customers with the ability to build incredible 3D geospatial applications. We're constantly innovating as we grow our collaborations with Google, Epic Games, Unity, NVIDIA, Esri, Bentley Systems and the wider Cesium customers and community.
We're looking for a Senior 3D Product Manager to help drive our strategy and roadmap for Cesium 3D products, engage a vocal and diverse community, and deliver our goals and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Cesium's 3D products aligned to overall vision and business objectives.
- Be at the intersection of technology, people, and business - coordinating product strategy, integrations, development, and business relationships.
- Collaborate with engineering to design, develop, and launch market-leading 3D geospatial products for tiling and/or runtime engines. This includes providing comprehensive software specifications and testing of in-development versions to provide feedback.
- Organize and derive market trends from internal and external research, customer feedback, and broad market input to improve the 3D products, lower the barrier to entry, reduce friction, and improve developer experience.
- Facilitate alignment for a diverging set of inputs and people to converge on strong, bought-in decisions that benefit the broader community as a whole.
- Own and continuously manage an active backlog by prioritizing the needs of both internal and external stakeholders regularly. Ensure that the features are well specified, developed or adjusted at the right time, maintaining focus on their required priority and scope to drive maximum impact.
- Coordinate with first- and third-party customers to create joint opportunities that help grow the ecosystem and business.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of product management or 3D development experience, preferably working on highly technical software projects in 3D, computer graphics, or game technology.
- Strong experience collaborating with and delivering software for developers. Prior experience as a software developer is a plus.
- Ability to combine overall product strategy, key customer input, and broad market and community feedback with a detailed, executable product plan.
- You obsess over priorities, creating impact, and constantly test them against strategy and goals.
- You are great at analyzing user and customer data, business intelligence, and usage analytics for our products, and producing useful insights to improve products and features.
- Fantastic communication skills and interpersonal savvy. You can communicate with executive leadership as well as you can with engineers.
- You likely have a technical education, such as an undergrad degree in computer science, or you have equivalent proven work experience.
