Equipment & Tool Designer - AOG (Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior)

The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Global Services are seeking a Tooling & Equipment Designer for the Plant 2 Tukwilla, WA location to support Airplane on Ground (AOG) tooling and equipment for Fleet and Production Engineering support activities.

A successful candidate in this role will have strong desire for technical support, process improvements, collaboration, and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be directly supporting the shop floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the AOG business. In AOG Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity and providing our customers with world class fleet support.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level and Senior Level Equipment and Tool Designers.

Primary Responsibilities:

This is an equipment and tooling development, implementation, and improvement role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Investigate basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
  • Research designs to create and revise usage instructions.
  • Provide technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems and analyzing data to identify solutions.
  • Maintain hardware and software configuration.
  • Support the disposition of equipment and tooling.
  • Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and document equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and support user training development.
  • The Position requires intermittent periods of overtime as required to support AOG requirements.
  • The position may also require domestic or international travel to support remote site fleet repairs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Level 2: 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to travel as required domestically or internationally
  • Experience working with and/or interpreting engineering data or engineering drawings

Preferred qualifications:

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a production or tooling environment
  • Experience in 3d modeling software
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing and repair techniques
  • Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
  • 1 or more years of project management experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Associate Level (Level 2): $56,950 - $77,050

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $68,000 - $92,000

Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level 4): $80,750 - $109,250

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. ยง120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This is not a Safety Sensitive Position.

This position does not require a Security Clearance.
