Lead Product Management Specialist – Cloud Runtime Platforms

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Product Management Specialist – Cloud Runtime Platforms to join the team in Seattle, WA; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; Plano, TX; Ridley Park, PA; Seal Beach, CA; El Segundo, CA; or Hazelwood, MO.

This individual will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery for Boeing Managed Cloud, our enterprise cloud platform serving mission-critical aerospace programs.

Boeing Managed Cloud is a live production platform providing enterprise landing zones that enable application teams to consume IaaS resources across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The next phase of its evolution includes higher-level managed services such as automated Virtual Machine (VM) patching and lifecycle management, and shared managed platform services including managed Kubernetes offerings.

This is a senior individual contributor role with informal team lead responsibilities, providing product leadership and coordination for 2–3 product managers on the Boeing Managed Cloud team as well as coordination with peer product managers across the broader organization.

You will work alongside architects, engineers, and security professionals shaping how application teams experience cloud infrastructure from initial provisioning through ongoing operations and platform evolution on programs where reliability and security are non-negotiable.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Own and continuously refine the Boeing Managed Cloud product vision, roadmap, and prioritized backlog
  • Define requirements and acceptance criteria for landing zone capabilities and managed platform services across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Drive build-out of net-new managed services capabilities, including automated VM patching, lifecycle management, and shared platform services
  • Champion automation-first delivery including infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, pipeline automation, and self-service platform capabilities
  • Provide informal product leadership and mentorship to 2–3 Boeing Managed Cloud product managers
  • Coordinate dependencies with peer Product Managers (PMs) across the organization
  • Engage application teams and stakeholders to gather feedback, track adoption, and present platform performance and Return on Investment (ROI) to engineering leadership

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience with product management or product design
  • Experience with Cloud hosted platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
  • Experience in cloud platform engineering and/or product management
  • Experience providing technical leadership to cross functional engineering projects
  • Experience demonstrating executive presence with exceptional written and oral communication skills; able to influence senior leaders, present complex technical/organizational matters clearly, and lead high-stakes discussions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Cloud certification in AWS, Azure, or GCP (Solutions Architect, Administrator or equivalent)
  • Experience with FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization practices
  • Experience in a regulated or mission-critical industry (aerospace, defense, or similar)
  • Experience with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) for operational request and onboarding workflows
