Role & Responsibilities
As the Director of Curriculum Design, you will drive a culture of achievement that actualizes Bold's vision for a world-class K-12 public education—preparing every student to succeed at the highest levels in college and beyond. You will work closely with Bold's leadership team to develop strategic objectives related to program design and team development to drive learning outcomes across our growing K-12 model.
To help us achieve our vision, we are searching for a candidate with teaching and leadership experience in a high-performing K-12 setting. Ideal candidates will have a solutions-oriented mindset, the ability to coach teams to high levels of achievement, and a foundational belief that every child can succeed when we create a culture that holds everyone—team, students, and families—to high expectations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and apply a deep understanding of Bold's goals, vision, and values to build a culture of purpose and impact
- Design and implement a rigorous academic program, grounded in cognitive theory and science of learning principles, that prepares and supports every student to achieve at a high level
- Identify and track progress to indicators that reliably predict academic success at the secondary and post-secondary levels
- Regularly lead and participate in data reviews and coaching cycles to drive student and team progress to goals
- Conduct ongoing reviews of top-performing K-12 schools to ensure program design prepares every student to succeed alongside peers from top-performing public and independent schools
- Develop a team to achieve ambitious outcomes, ensuring high levels of collaboration, alignment, and support; design and lead professional learning cycles that accelerate curriculum team development and impact
- Develop strong relationships that meaningfully invest team members in collaborating to achieve shared, ambitious academic outcomes
- Model Bold's core values and building a positive student and team culture across the school

Qualifications
- 3+ years teaching experience at a high-performing school with a proven track record of success; Regents- and AP-level experience preferred
- 3+ years of aligned curriculum and assessment design experience in a high-performing K-12 setting
- 3+ years of academic leadership experience
- Graduate degree in a related field

Compensation
Bold Charter School offers highly competitive compensation, in the top range of comparable positions across New York City charter schools. The starting salary range for this position is $140-170,000 annually and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
