New Product Development Co-op - R&D, ICTx- Spring or Summer 2026

As a New Product Development- R&D, ICTx Co-op participant, you will collaborate cross-functionally to develop breakthrough next-generation medical devices. We partner with Process Development, Design Assurance, and other functions to bring innovative designs to fruition and launch life-saving devices into the market that improve and extend the lives of patients around the world.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish state-of-the-art methods that help deepen understanding of coronary artery treatment therapies
- Design, fabricate and test prototype devices that address unmet customer needs
- Conduct experiments to support design characterization and test method development
- Analyze and interpret data from feasibility and verification testing, and present findings to the broader R&D team
- Support the development and execution of test protocols to ensure product safety, efficacy, and reliability
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Document engineering activities and results in accordance with internal quality system requirements and regulatory guidelines
Required Qualifications:
- Must graduate between December 2026 – Spring 2028
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate level degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Biomechanics
- Must be able to commit to a full 8-month co-op assignment during one of the following timeframes: January 12th, 2026 – August 7th, 2026, OR May 18th or May 26th, 2026 – December 18th, 2026
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN, Boston Scientific, Arbor Lakes location
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams
- Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions
- Previous internship or co-op experience
- Desire to work in a medical device company where real products get manufactured for global distribution
- Solid modeling and prototyping experience preferred
- Experience or coursework in solid mechanics or biomechanics
Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
