About the Role
As an Upstream Product Manager supporting Boston Scientific's Cardiac Diagnostics portfolio, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our diagnostics products and portfolio. Your responsibilities will include identifying unmet clinical needs, translating market intelligence and clinical feedback into actionable product strategies, and guiding new innovations through development to commercialization. This high visibility role gives you the opportunity to drive impactful outcomes for patients and providers and influence key strategic business decisions.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Strategic Portfolio Development: Define and drive the upstream strategy for next-generation cardiac diagnostics solutions. Identify clinical needs, market trends, and customer expectations to shape both short- and long-term portfolio direction.
- Voice of Customer & Market Insight: Lead Voice of Customer initiatives and advisory boards to gather insights from physicians, allied health professionals, and patients. Conduct in-depth market research, opportunity assessments, and competitive benchmarking to inform product strategy and positioning.
- Product Development Leadership: Serve as the upstream marketing lead and core team member on cross-functional development programs. Collaborate with R&D to define product requirements, guide feature prioritization, and support feasibility and early-stage evaluation activities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Safety, Health Economics, Finance, and Market Strategy teams to develop value propositions and cross-functional strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Strategic Product Planning, or R&D
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including experience in opportunity valuation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree in Engineering or Life Sciences or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Strategic Product Planning, or R&D within the medical device industry
- Experience in cardiac diagnostic monitoring or therapeutic solutions
- Experience collaborating with R&D as a core team lead throughout product development lifecycle
- Experience conducting VoC research and user needs assessments with key customer groups
Work Mode: At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office in Arden Hills, Minnesota, at least three days per week. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
