Assists the Product Manager in developing and guiding relevant plans and initiatives to optimize the growth and profitability of all products under the Battery Materials business within the global/China business segment. Combines financial planning and analysis capabilities with a business perspective: supports the development of pricing models and similar tools, while monitoring costs and identifying optimization opportunities from a product management standpoint.
Takes charge of product portfolio and product lifecycle management, focusing on maximizing profits, minimizing costs, and delivering value. Acts as a versatile cross-functional communicator, leads the follow-up of key projects, and serves as a communication bridge between the business side and functional departments.
Participates in sourcing decisions to support value optimization for both the business and Cabot as a whole. Additionally, undertakes daily business support tasks, including collaborating with R&D, technology, and production teams to establish a tracking mechanism for new formula management, as well as responding to customer requests.
This role reports to China Product Manager.
The role is best located in Shanghai, China.
• Responsible for evaluating and monitoring the full-dimensional performance of the product portfolio, covering growth, profitability, raw materials, inventory levels, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and other aspects; coordinate various adjustment measures to ensure the optimization of performance under short-term business plans and budget targets; at the same time, use financial capabilities to assist in building pricing models and other tools, and monitor costs and identify optimization opportunities from a product management (PM) perspective.
• Develop pricing recommendations based on the business framework, market conditions, competition environment and marketing programs; track the achievement of pricing targets, identify abnormal deviations, and collaborate with the commercial team to promote rectification.
• Oversee cost trend and identify the abnormalities with further collaboration with FP&A, plant, procurement and finance team to lead the optimization projects and actions (raw material costs and leakage costs like logistic, package, external services costs, etc); with collecting the cost information from market together with marketing / FP&A supporting to find internal improvement chances.
• Collaborate with the regional supply planning team to manage the key supply issues, optimize supply-demand matching and inventory target achievement, facilitating the implementation of business plans; proactively take the lead in resolving product-related issues (such as insufficient minimum inventory, compliance issues, stock shortages, and excess inventory), evaluate and lead decisions on product priority trade-offs to maximize profits.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to establish a tracking mechanism for new formula management, while responding to customer needs, such as general capacity information sharing, data breakdowns, drafting official communications, etc.

Skills/Education:
• Master degree or rich experience with Bachelor's degree in Business / Marketing / Finance.
• 5+ years of related marketing management or financial / supply chain analysis experience, 2 of which are in Product Management. Multiple positions experience is preferred.
• Relevant experience in battery materials / emerging market products is preferred.
• Fluent in English and able to use it as a working language.
