Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Capital Markets Product Developer to drive the development and enhancement of our financial products. This role requires a strong understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and product development lifecycles. A key differentiator for this role will be the strategic application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance product offerings, streamline processes, and gain a competitive advantage. The ideal candidate will collaborate with trading, structuring, technology, and sales teams to deliver innovative and impactful solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development & Innovation: Drive the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation and launch. This includes new product creation, enhancements to existing products, and strategic initiatives.
  • Capital Markets Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of capital markets, financial instruments (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives), and market dynamics to develop and refine product offerings.
  • AI Integration: Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate AI technologies (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing) into capital markets products to improve performance, efficiency, and risk management.
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders across trading, structuring, technology, and sales to gather product requirements and translate them into detailed specifications.
  • Product Design & Specification: Create detailed product specifications, including functional requirements, data requirements, and user interface (UI) designs.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with technology teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of product features. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure alignment.
  • Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the capital markets landscape.
  • Risk Management: Ensure all product development activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies. Appropriately assess risk when making product decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6-10 years of relevant experience in capital markets product development or a related role.
  • Capital Markets Knowledge: Deep understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and trading strategies.
  • Experience with product development lifecycles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
  • AI Skills (Added Advantage): Familiarity with AI concepts and technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and data analytics. Experience applying AI to solve problems in capital markets is a plus. Knowledge of AI development tools and platforms.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
