The Client Demarketing Associate/AVP role is an intermediate-level position within the Banking Portfolio Optimization Group (POG) team. As part of a global initiative to ensure a clean and risk-managed client portfolio, this role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end offboarding process of commercial and Corporate Banking Clients.
This is a highly visible role that will offer the individual exposure to the bank's global network and cross-functional teams, including Relationship Management, Operations, Service, Business and Product leads. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong product knowledge, attention to detail and a proactive, positive mindset with a drive to learn.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate client demarketing requests, conducting due diligence against client's footprint metrics ensuring business criteria's are met
- Collaborating with product partners to complete cross-business reviews and liaising with business teams for ownership transfers
- Draft and issue client communications, including closure letters, in partnership with internal legal and compliance teams
- Liaise with Operations teams to execute client exits, ensuring all accounts and related products are fully closed in accordance with existing procedures/protocol
- Preparing reports / matrix to reflect progress and follow ups with multiple stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to continuously refine offboarding processes and contribute to strategic enhancement efforts
- Support with reporting and governance requirements, ensuring issues are escalated promptly and through appropriate channels
- Leading side projects assigned time to time and reporting progress thereto
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking, with a strong understanding of banking products and client lifecycle management
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Office – Advanced PowerPoint presentation & Excel expertise including demonstrated capabilities with pivot tables, Vlookups and formulas.
- Excellent due diligence and analytical skills with the ability to identify and mitigate risk
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident in engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple offboarding cases in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, proactive mindset, and eagerness to learn and grow within a global banking franchise.
