Job Overview

The Project Owner for USPB and Wealth Risk leads strategic projects within USPB and Wealth Risk technology. This role owns business needs, regulatory requirements, and technical execution, ensuring projects mitigate risks, enhance compliance, and align with organizational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Leadership: Define project vision, scope, and objectives, aligning with USPB and Wealth Risk frameworks, policies and regulatory obligations. Translate business needs into actionable project requirements.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison, communicating project status, risks, and decisions to senior leadership, business units, and technical teams. Resolve conflicts and manage expectations.

  • Backlog & Requirements: Own, define, and prioritize the project backlog and testing. Work with analysts to refine detailed requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Execution Oversight: Guide project teams, provide timely decisions, oversee quality including test cases and automation, and ensure deliverables meet regulatory and internal standards. Monitor project risks and dependencies.

  • Risk & Compliance Governance: Ensure project adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Act as an SME for risk and compliance aspects of solutions.

  • Team Leadership: Foster collaboration and provide mentorship within the project team.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep expertise in consumer risk categories, such as credit card and mortgage risks.

  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong technical acumen in risk/compliance technologies and data governance.

  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and make sound decisions under pressure.

Experience:

  • 10 plus years in product leadership, with 7-10 years directly in Retail Risk, Regulatory Compliance, or Audit, preferably in regulated industries.

  • Proven success delivering complex, cross-functional projects using agile and traditional methodologies.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; Master's or professional certifications (PMP, CSM, FRM, CAMS) preferred.
