Job Overview

Trade and Working Capital Solutions provides an integrated suite of innovative and tailored trade finance services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations. Citi supply chain finance solution offers global buyers and suppliers with opportunities to help expand liquidity through supplier finance, dynamic discounting, open account and other payment options. Citi supplier Finance is a globally product offering and is an industry leading product with number 1 market position.

This North America focused role will be responsible to deliver best-in-class solutioning and execution to our clients, a successful candidate will also bring ideas to deliver alpha and growth across the Trade business with an entrepreneurial spirit. The candidate with experience leading complex financing transactions across the globe, and building new solutions would be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Development

  • Contribute to the development of execution capabilities to address new market needs/products and an expanded target market, including Citi's Commercial Bank / middle market clients.
  • Help identify replicable structures and opportunities across industry sectors and regions and contribute to better connectivity amongst transactors in each region.
  • Support the monitoring and management of performance of Payables Finance Products, including client experience, pricing, risk, and distribution.
  • Assist in the implementation of performance improvement strategies, with a specific focus on cross-sell and integration, including contributing to competitive analyses, market analyses, product development road maps, market plans, pricing strategies and product line extensions.
  • Support the adherence of product delivery to all parameters regionally, in line with Global Product Standards and specific requirements for the region.
  • Contribute to ensuring there are no product gaps internally and support efforts towards 100% straight through processing by actively coordinating with O&T and Finance teams.
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, operations, legal, implementations, and sales to deliver solutions for Citi clients.
  • Participate in tech development through planning process and execution of key projects; ensure feedback from clients is sought and incorporated in planning process.
  • Assist with Third Party Onboarding and Management duties

Financial Management

  • Support the management of the P&L for specific aspects of the Payables Finance product suite, including Open Account & Dynamic Discounting.
  • Contribute to P&L analysis; understand financials and engage with NA Finance partners on monthly reporting, outlook, month end results, budgeting, mid-year forecasting, and other ad hoc projects.
  • Understand the funding model through engagement with Treasury and Finance; assist in communicating any changes in strategy or inputs (e.g., change in vector, LP, TP, etc.).
  • Monitor and track key business drivers for assigned parts of the pillar portfolio, including assets, facility utilization, spreads, attrition, revenues, etc.

Client & Sales Support

  • Support the execution and assist in the oversight of new trade transactions in partnership with sales and client management.
  • Assist in identifying and validating prospects based on market research and knowledge to contribute to the expansion of business pipeline and revenue growth; attend client meetings as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Trade Sales teams; provide training, client escalation support, deal support, etc. as needed.
  • Partner and assist country product managers on the day-to-day business, product discussions and specific region needs.

Risk & Compliance

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Support audits of the product and assist in ensuring satisfactory closures.
  • Monitor, coordinate remediation, and escalate operational risk through regular reviews with Ops; proactively and promptly notify and escalate material issues and risks, such as control breaks, fraud events, system performance concerns, etc. to region and global pillar head.
  • Support the Global Deal Review process by ensuring guidelines and criteria followed on new and Renewal items.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, Masters preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in trade finance or related, in supplier finance would be highly preferred
  • Intellectual curiosity, analytical and conceptual thinker
  • Proactively seeks and develops new opportunities
  • Attention to detail and process/analytic mindset
  • Ability to build networks and relationships internally and externally
  • Familiarity with product development methodologies
  • Direct experience in end-to-end project delivery, and knowledge of various analytical tools including Tableau and Access would be a plus
  • Comfortable with performing data investigations that require a high degree of accuracy with tight timescales
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to create business analysis, troubleshoot data quality issues, and conduct exploratory and descriptive analysis of business datasets
  • Ability to structure and break down problems, develop solutions, and to drive to results
  • Process Management knowledge with a propensity for detail and comprehensiveness of content
  • Project Management skills with experience leading large cross functional initiatives
  • Generation of reports and presentations for senior management
