The Credit Prod Sales Sr Grp Mgr manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for actively calling on clients in partnership with RMs to deepen relationships, proactively owning, responding to and anticipating future needs, challenges or risks, in addition to identifying and pursuing new clients aligned with CITI's value proposition.
  • Drives innovation on the solutions we provide clients while structuring deals to balance risk and reward.
  • Serves as strategic advisor to RM and Client
  • Attracts, retains and motivates a team, along with responsibility for managing a budget and meeting team sales goals.
  • Sets business strategy and leads execution of initiatives
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time
  • May also create and implement broader strategy across a segment or multiple geographies
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years commercial banking experience, preferably within roles of increasing responsibility
  • Demonstrated success driving business results through effective sales management
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading teams through complex change; a reputation for retaining, attracting and developing talent
  • Proven track record of initiating, executing and growing complex client relationships
  • Extensive experience in Debt Capital Markets (DCM) and Structured Finance, with a primary focus on debt origination and structuring.
  • Proven track record in leading and executing complex transactions, including syndicated loans, bonds, debentures, and securitizations;
  • Deep expertise in corporate credit analysis;
  • Experience in coaching and developing team members, acting as a subject matter expert to scale knowledge across the banking team

Education:

  • Bachelors degree, MBA preferred
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.
