Senior Business Associate
The Senior Business Associate is a strategic partner to business leadership, responsible for driving commercial initiatives, optimizing cost structures, strengthening the control environment and coordinating the administration of business activities. The role combines business development, financial management, data-driven insights and cross-functional execution working alongside senior members to support the evolution of the flow trading business within Spread Products. This position operates with a high degree of autonomy, partnering closely with the Business and functional partners across the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense to deliver initiatives that improve revenue generation, scalability, efficiency, and user experience while maintaining a robust governance framework.
Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Development
- Actively support the evaluation, design, and execution of business initiatives including new activity initiatives – assess business case development, financial impact analysis, changes required and operational readiness
- Partner with Trading and other stakeholders to support the development and expansion of systematic trading capabilities and associated e-Trading requirements and governance
- Ideate and drive initiatives that improve the end-to-end user experience for front-office and business stakeholders through AI, process simplification, tooling enhancements and better data access
Financial Management & Expense Optimization
- Improve transparency and develop actionable plans to reduce direct expense vendor footprint, with a focus on Market Data, Brokerage, Clearance, and Exchange costs.
- Lead analysis and ongoing management of business financials, including revenue, expenses, headcount, and productivity metrics.
- Provide cost analysis, budget planning, and fiscal allocation support to business leadership.
Data, Reporting & Insights
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial, operational, and performance data, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Develop materials and strategic presentations for internal and external audiences on behalf of senior business and product leaders.
Governance, Risk & Controls
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external reviews independently managing requests and remediation
- Ensure business decisions appropriately balance growth, risk, and reputational considerations, while proactively identifying and escalating emerging risks and control gaps
- Partner with Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit to ensure a robust control and governance framework aligned with firm policies and regulatory expectations.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in a financial services role; Markets related preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and partners
- Self-starter with a pragmatic, execution-oriented approach and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments
- Strong judgment and risk awareness; ability to identify issues, assess impact, and escalate appropriately
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate it into clear, actionable insights for senior technical and non-technical audiences
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups); strong PowerPoint capability for executive-level materials
- Experience operating in global, highly matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
