Associate Manager, Quality & Mission Assurance

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Associate Manager of Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) to serve as a quality leader for our Quality Inspection team at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment's location in West Palm Beach, FL. The site is a center of excellence for large liquid rocket engine design, fabrication, assembly, and test. This position is responsible for leading a team of approximately 15 product inspectors within the Q&MA Product Acceptance organization.

The Q&MA Product Acceptance team ensures delivered products conform to contractual and L3Harris requirements for product quality. They ensure adherence to and compliance with established quality policies, practices, and government regulations. This includes implementation of quality and efficiency process improvement initiatives that will directly impact the successful zero-defect, on-time delivery of products.

Essential Functions:

• Manage a team of inspectors supporting various inspection efforts.
• Guide team to resolve technical challenges.
• Promote a strong culture of quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality factory management peers.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Measure, monitor, and take action to ensure quality-focused key performance indicator targets are achieved.
• Partner with Leadership in maintaining certification and compliance efforts.
• Support identification of needed capital investment.
• Lead and execute process improvement projects.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related quality experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related quality experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge and skills associated with manufacturing and/or inspection of aerospace products.
• Requires management and leadership knowledge in a Quality or Manufacturing role.
• Experience directly managing a Quality Inspection or Quality Organization in an Aerospace or Defense manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and/or other quality standards.
• Direct experience with fabrication, assembly, test, and inspection processes commonly used to produce aerospace components and sub-assemblies.
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.
