Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer provides expert design and production support for MRDC Command communications and engagements. This role is responsible for creating visually compelling and mission-relevant graphics across digital and print platforms. The ideal candidate combines creative vision with technical precision to deliver high-quality materials that support command publications, events, and strategic messaging initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design, edit, and produce a wide range of visual products including: slideshows, templates, logos, brochures, flyers, business card templates, digital animations and graphics, command publications, and scientific posters. Visuals for exercises, VIP visits, trade show exhibits, and installations (e.g., display cases and wall graphics).
- Ensure all products meet optimal print and digital quality standards.
- Deliver a mix of electronic and print-ready materials, including 508-accessible web graphics and PDFs with appropriate alt tags.
- Collaborate with contractor and Government teammates to develop militarily relevant content.
- Regularly propose new design concepts and visual strategies to enhance command messaging and engagement.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Experience producing both print and digital deliverables, including 508-compliant materials.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Creative problem-solving and concept development skills.
- Familiarity with military branding and visual standards is a plus.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Multimedia Arts, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design or multimedia production.
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality visual content for print and digital platforms.
- Proficiency in creating 508-accessible materials.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or advanced training in design or multimedia.
- Experience supporting DoD, DHA, or federal government communications.
- Familiarity with scientific or medical visualizations.
- Experience designing trade shows, installations, or large-scale exhibits.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance tools.
