Quality Control Specialist IV - IT Design

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Specialist IV - IT Design to join a specialized team onsite in Charleston, SC, supporting a Department of Defense (DoD) initiative focused on enhancing operational medical readiness across joint military environments. As a Quality Control Specialist IV - IT Design, you will ensure that engineering and software systems meet rigorous quality and safety standards. This role supports the testing, validation, and documentation of mission-critical technologies used in deployed, shipboard, and theater medical operations.

Responsibilities of the Quality Control Specialist IV - IT Design:

• Conduct quality assurance testing on equipment, systems, networks, and applications to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Interpret engineering plans and technical drawings to support design and fabrication of test specimens.
• Prepare shop drawings using Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) tools.
• Collaborate with engineering and software teams to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Support the development and maintenance of engineering and software systems through hands-on testing and analysis.

Qualifications for the Quality Control Specialist IV - IT Design:

• 10 years of professional experience solving technical problems
• 5 years of experience designing architecture, infrastructure, and/or custom applications in support of cybersecurity, information assurance, information technology, medical data requirements, 3 of those years preferably in support of defense health requirements
• Trained in engineering and/or software design/maintenance techniques and experience testing systems, networks, communications, infrastructure/configuration, or applications
• Ability to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens
• Experience in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)
• Active TS (Top Secret) clearance required

Desired Skills for the Quality Control Specialist IV - IT Design:

• Familiarity with JOMIS, TMIP, RAISE 2.0, and Ship Board medical systems
• Experience supporting DoD healthcare IT environments
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Knowledge of Agile development and cybersecurity frameworks

Compensation for the Quality Control Specialist IV - IT Design:

• Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 depending on experience
