Job Title

The role involves the development, calibration, and sustainment of various space and facilities planning efforts. This role will act as design subject matter expert to clients by providing in depth knowledge in space planning, block planning, conceptual and schematic design, furniture design and layout, and space requirements development at the facility and portfolio level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with a team of space planners, architects, and interior designers to develop solutions for space utilization.
  • Responsible for occupancy data.
  • Conduct space validation walks and update occupancy metrics.
  • Assist in gathering program of requirements data and translating it into efficient, innovative, and functional space plans.
  • Leverage familiarity with DHS and GSA space guidelines, assist in establishing progressive workplace policies and the use of technology.
  • Work in partnership with a larger team of facilities professionals managing associated tasks.
  • Interact with change management teams.
  • Participate in the analysis of space requirements and collaborate with Facilities to provide conceptual space plans.
  • Develop in depth presentation documents.
  • Research and develop space analytics.
  • Utilize platforms such as teams and SharePoint to coordinate and communicate effectively.
  • Develop and assist in development of SOP's, SOW's, and overall design standards.
  • Additional duties include: Assist in the preparation of presentation materials, Maintain confidentiality of information, Development of policy documents, Prepare, edit, and assemble reports required for meetings and presentations, Work effectively with other branches and divisions within the organization to accomplish tasks, Assist, as needed, with special projects, Obtain necessary information from appropriate source(s) to complete assigned tasks and share information with others as needed, Oversee the development and editing of regularly scheduled status reports, as requested by the Government Task Manager, Complete other ad hoc assignments.

Travel Occasional travel to site locations for surveys or space walks is required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors (BA/BS) degree from accredited 4-year university.
  • Minimum (8) years of experience directly related to the delivery of office space portfolio planning.
  • (8) years of Project Management experience in commercial or Federal government office planning in a lead or primary role.
  • Ability to lead project team in the areas of space planning, block planning, conceptual and schematic design, furniture design and layout, and space requirements development at the facility and portfolio level.
  • Effective communications through verbal and written means.
  • Proficient in the development of Design Documentation.
  • Knowledge of space planning and interior design concepts for commercial office space development.
