- Translate operational workflows and user needs into clear UI/UX requirements, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications
- Collaborate with back-end engineers to define and consume clean API contracts (GraphQL or REST) that enable responsive, efficient front-end experiences
- Guide front-end architectural implementation with emphasis on usability, accessibility, performance, and consistency
- Participate in Agile sprints to refine designs, validate usability, and ensure features meet both mission and user requirements from concept through deployment
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of professional software development or UI/UX design experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing user interfaces and interaction flows for modern web applications
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, including usability, accessibility, responsive design, and visual hierarchy
- Experience collaborating with engineers to define and consume APIs (GraphQL or REST) from a front-end perspective
- Familiarity with modern web application architecture, including client-side rendering, state management, and deployment pipelines
- Experience working with design systems, component libraries, or reusable UI frameworks
- Proficiency with Git for version control
- Experience working within Agile development environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Vue, emphasizing component-driven design
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and designing for diverse user needs
- Experience creating or maintaining design systems, style guides, or pattern libraries
- Understanding of secure application design principles and how UX decisions impact system security
- Experience validating designs through user feedback, usability testing, or iterative refinement
