Job Description

Whilst being a part of the wider transactional derivatives and structured products team, the candidate will focus on Strategic Equities transactions. The firm advises across the full range of strategic equity solutions including stake building, financing, hedging and disposal strategies. The formats of these transactions include derivatives, stock loans, margin loans and ECM strategies.

We are looking for a candidate with experience of this area who is able to assist our clients in the structuring, documentation and execution of their transactions.

Our Derivatives and Structured Products group is an acknowledged market leader. Our work reflects the dynamism and volatility of today's financial markets, where competitive edge is built on innovation, foresight and speed of delivery.

Our Derivatives and Structured Products group in London is made up of 11 Partners and 34 Lawyers and 7 trainees.

A smaller team led by 2 partners focuses on Strategic Equities work.

The majority of our Strategic Equities work is international, high profile and time sensitive. You can expect to have direct client contact with our market leading and highly experienced clients. You will also collaborate extensively with other practice areas and offices across the firm.

We work with the world's leading financial institutions and financial investor/fund clients. The innovation and legal creativity which we bring to new financial products and financial market strategies is fundamental to the outcome of our clients' businesses.

Our market-leading experience attracts the most complex, challenging and ground-breaking deals to the firm. This, in turn, has enabled us to attract some of the best and most ambitious lawyers to assist our clients and build one of the market's leading, and most diverse, practices.

Qualifications

We are interested to hear from outstanding mid-level lawyers who already have experience with Strategic Equities in addition to a solid grounding in other transactional derivatives and structured products. You will have a working knowledge of ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA and LMA based products and a firm grasp of English law security legal principles and practice as well as an ability to review and interrogate foreign law security arrangements. Experience with legal opinions around these topics would be an advantage.

Beyond Strategic Equities, you will also have the chance to work on OTC fixed income, credit and equity based derivatives, asset backed securities, repackaging programmes, collateral documentation and structures, repos, stock loans, credit and equity-linked notes, synthetic securitisations and insurance linked securities.

We welcome candidates from either similarly high profile private practice or with relevant legal in-house experience. We are very open to candidates from or with experience gained in other leading financial centres outside London.
