About the role
As a User Experience Design Senior Designer, you will lead the creation of user-centered digital solutions that support some of the company's most high-impact initiatives. This hybrid role, based near Dearborn, MI, combines strategic leadership with hands-on design, requiring deep expertise in UX, product design, and user research. You'll drive design strategy, mentor fellow designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive, innovative experiences across platforms—shaping the future of mobility through thoughtful, data-informed design.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Dearborn - MI USA. What you need to have to be considered
· 5–8 years of experience as a Senior UIUX Design- UX/Product Designer, including leadership responsibilities.
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Design, Psychology, Communications, or related 5 years of proven UX Product design experience including leadership responsibilities.
· Extensive experience conducting and applying user research to inform both strategy and execution.
· Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
· Strong understanding of UI development principles, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· A portfolio showcasing end-to-end design leadership on high-impact projects across multiple platforms.
These will help you stand out
· Proven experience leading design efforts within Lean/Agile product teams.
· Strong ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and clearly communicate design rationale at senior leadership levels.
· Specialized expertise in areas such as in-vehicle systems, mobile design, business design, motion design, or API-driven systems.
· Demonstrated success in mentoring, coaching, and developing design talent across teams.
· A track record of introducing innovative design methodologies and contributing to the advancement of organizational design maturity.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $120,500 - $142,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
