Technology Project Manager / Designer

As a Technology Project Manager / Designer, you will make an impact by leading the design, delivery, and lifecycle management of clinical technologies that support critical study operations. You will be a valued member of the Clinical Technology & Operations team and collaborate with system owners, study teams, and vendor partners to ensure high-quality, scalable, and compliant technology solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Own, design, and implement clinical technologies while ensuring systems remain current and aligned with study requirements.
  • Lead clinical study design and specification development across platforms such as EDC, eCOA, CDR, and IRT.
  • Apply system design best practices to maintain high data integrity, reduce manual work, and minimize downstream changes.
  • Manage technology deliverables including planning, timeline tracking, risk identification, and change control.
  • Develop UAT test scripts, execute functional testing, and support system validation.
  • Troubleshoot and triage technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and business continuity.
  • Monitor technology performance to ensure optimal use, cost control, and effective user adoption.
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Document workflows, technical requirements, and change requests.
  • Track risks, issues, and CAPA activities, escalating critical items as needed.
  • Partner with vendors to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Utilize technical skills (Python, SQL, Data Science) to support analytics and dashboard creation.
  • Communicate project updates clearly and consistently to stakeholders.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in: Chicago, IL, New Jersey, NJ, Irvine, CA.

What you need to have to be considered

· 5–8 years of experience managing clinical technology or technical project delivery.

· Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and systems (EDC, IRT, eCOA, CDR).

· Technical skills in Python, SQL, or Data Science; experience building dashboards.

· Experience with system design, requirements gathering, UAT, validation, and change control.

· Strong project and vendor management experience managing timelines, risks, and dependencies.

· Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

These will help you stand out

· Experience supporting clinical study build or integrated data workflows.

· Familiarity with automation and process optimization in clinical operations.

· Experience working with global or matrixed teams.

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until March 11th, 2025.

· The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

· This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of applicable plans.
