Industrial Designer

As an Industrial Designer at Cuisinart, you'll play a key role in shaping how people experience cooking at home. You'll combine design craft with imagination—translating insights, trends, and emerging technologies into products that spark joy and elevate the culinary journey. This is a hands-on, collaborative design role for creators who love to sketch, build, test, and refine. We're looking for designers who bring a maker's spirit and a cook's curiosity—people who are inspired by color, form, proportion, and how products make people feel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discover & Dream: Immerse yourself in food, design, and lifestyle trends to identify opportunities for meaningful innovation. Bring forward fresh ideas that capture the Cuisinart ethos—where design meets culinary creativity.
  • Concept & Create: Translate insights into expressive sketches, concept boards, and early 3D forms that communicate both emotion and function. Present ideas confidently, gather feedback, and evolve quickly.
  • Design & Develop: Use CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) and KeyShot to create refined 3D models and renderings that balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Prototype & Experiment: Rapidly prototype using 3D printing and model-making techniques. Test and iterate to ensure each design feels intuitive, tactile, and delightful in use.
  • Collaborate & Inspire: Partner with engineers, marketers, and culinary experts to transform ideas into launch-ready products. Infuse design thinking into every stage of development.
  • Champion the Brand: Elevate the Cuisinart visual and sensory language—ensuring every design expresses the brand's modern, premium, and approachable design DNA.
  • Fuel Innovation: Participate in brainstorms and design sprints, bringing enthusiasm, curiosity, and creative confidence to every project. Ask bold questions and help shape the future of how people cook.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 2-5 years of experience as an Industrial Designer.
  • Proficient in 2D sketching, Illustrator, Photoshop and 3D modeling (SolidWorks or Creo).
  • Experience with KeyShot rendering and 3D printing.
  • Excellent sense of form, proportion, material and color.
  • Curious, collaborative, and comfortable iterating rapidly in a fast-moving environment.
  • Passionate about design that improves people's daily lives - especially in the kitchen.
  • Confident communicator who thrives in a team environment.
  • Experience in consumer goods, kitchenware or home appliance categories, is a plus.

Environmental Factors

  • Working conditions are typical of a design studio and office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer keyboard and monitor.
  • This role requires on-site presence Monday through Friday in our Stamford CT office.
