As a Director of Marketing & Communications, you will lead the successful implementation of branding strategies and tactical marketing initiatives to support the hotel's short- and long-term growth and profitability objectives. Responsibilities include planning, directing, coordinating, and executing all Public Relations activities, while fostering a positive work culture aligned with IHG's Winning Ways and Commitment.
People • Entertain and build strong relationships with clients. • Develop and maintain a structured schedule of sales calls, meeting regularly with key decision-makers within target markets. • Build and enhance the hotel's profile within the local marketplace through active participation in industry events and community functions.
• Conduct client interviews to identify needs and strengthen business relationships. • Maintain regular communication with IHG hotels within the region and the regional reservations office to ensure alignment and maximize opportunities. • Manage corporate head office accounts and maintain preferred hotel history for each company. • Liaise with advertising agencies to support marketing and promotional initiatives.
Financial • Drive revenue by selling to new, existing, and prospective customers in line with established sales strategies, negotiating optimal rates to maximize business profitability. • Manage and grow existing accounts by delivering consistent service and strengthening long-term client relationships. • Promote and sell all facets of the hotel, including accommodation, dining, meetings, and events.
• Grow existing accounts while identifying, pursuing, and converting new business leads. • Analyse sales mix performance and assess its impact on overall hotel objectives. • Initiate, prepare, and submit tenders to secure new business opportunities. • Review and interpret sales and marketing data to support informed decision-making. • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives. • Implement strategies and directives provided by the Director of Sales and Marketing and Regional Managers
Guest Experience • Plan and conduct familiarization tours and site inspections to showcase the hotel and enhance client engagement. • Travel as required to promote the hotel and develop new and potential business opportunities. • Liaise closely with operational teams to ensure timely communication and seamless delivery of guest and client requirements. • Execute advertising and creative briefs accurately and within agreed timelines. • Assist in the development and launch of new products and services to enhance the guest experience.
Responsible Business • Provide direction on, and conduct, market research and analysis to identify trends and business opportunities. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business generators, including meeting and convention planners, visitors and convention bureaus, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, government departments, and other partners closely aligned with the hotel's business. • Assist with additional duties as assigned by management.
