Crunchyroll is looking for a business-minded commercial lawyer to join our expanding Legal team as Business & Legal Affairs – Marketing & Consumer Products, Senior Manager. In this new role, you'll support a broad range of marketing, consumer products, and IP-related work. Reporting to our SVP, Head of Business & Legal Affairs, you'll handle commercial contracts and dealmaking while partnering with teams across the company to help share the joy of anime worldwide.
Structure, draft, and negotiate a high volume of agreements, including merchandise licenses, prop schedules, marketing and advertising deals, IP licenses, and vendor/service contracts.
Help manage and protect Crunchyroll's growing global IP portfolio, providing practical advice on IP strategies.
Provide business-focused legal advice and creative solutions on a wide range of deals and legal matters.
Collaborate with marketing, consumer products, eCommerce, content, finance, people, and product teams to move key initiatives forward.
Manage U.S. and global deals, ensuring contracts remain consistent and up to date with internal policies and emerging legal requirements.
We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our New York office.

You have 8+ years of experience in marketing, consumer products, and IP, with a foundation in entertainment, tech, and general corporate matters.
You have a JD and are a member in good standing of at least one state bar (CA or NY required, or eligible to register as In-House Counsel in CA).
You excel at drafting and organization, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, error-free work.
You have knowledge of marketing, advertising, ad tech, licensing, consumer products, eCommerce, trademarks, and copyright law.
You have experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and finding creative, workable solutions.
You bring a global perspective on the media and entertainment industry and understand its fast-changing landscape.
You have practical experience with streaming, digital VOD, TV, film, consumer products, and tech industries.
You communicate effectively and build trust with internal teams, external partners, and outside counsel.
You thrive in evolving areas of law, balancing business goals with complexity and risk.
