Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Owner to join our Commercial Claim Adjudication engineering team. As a Senior Product Owner, you will contribute to product strategy by:

  • Leading the development and enhancement of Commercial Claim products or services.
  • Conducting market research.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and considering the end-to-end perspective of all impacted areas.
  • Designing user experiences.
  • Overseeing the product development lifecycle.
  • Applying expertise in user-centric design, agile methodologies, and market trends to help drive the success of Commercial Claim products and ensure they meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Commercial Claim products or services.

You will:

  • Act as a senior product owner for business solutions understanding product, business, and competitive landscape to successfully enhance the company's competitive advantage in the industry.
  • Handle different aspects of the entire product life cycle from developing ideas to prototyping and testing new features and product ideas.
  • Create epics, features and stories for current and future products based on consumer insights, research, business goals, and Customer Experience (CX) needs.
  • Play a crucial role in analyzing and translating business needs into high quality business and technical system requirements.
  • Coordinate with business teams and other key business partners to create a product vision, understand and help identify business value, understand required use cases and capabilities and translate these into product requirements.
  • Coordinate with talented technical partners from engineering, data science, user design, and architecture teams in a fast-paced development process to successfully enhance the company's competitive advantage in the industry.
  • Define budget resource levels and product iterations, schedules, releases, and roadmaps to maintain speed to market and differentiation.
  • Work as part of an Agile team to drive and successfully implement complex technology solutions.
  • Lead and provide mentoring to other Product Owners to deliver high quality products in a timely manner.
  • Conduct interviews, fact-finding, and independent research to design creative, progressive IT solutions for business problems, ensuring that the solutions meet the needs and requirements for the organization.
  • Utilize excellent presentation and communication skills, effectively collaborate with partners outside of IT and engage with business leaders as required to gather insights and ensure alignment between IT solutions and business objectives.

Location: Hartford, CT office hybrid schedule preferred. Will consider 100% remote in the U.S. Must work hours based on Eastern Time Zone.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of work experience
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of medical/dental healthcare systems, regulations and insurance processes, ensuring that all business processes and solutions comply with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex healthcare data, using tools like SQL and Excel, and generating actionable insights.
  • Strong experience working with Agile frameworks and Agile metrics, demonstrating a deep understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Proven experience in refining program backlogs in collaboration with scrum teams, framing clear Epics, Features, Stories, and acceptance criteria using tools such as RTC or Rally.
  • Experience working on large programs and technical planning events, both in-person and virtual, showcasing the ability to navigate complex projects and effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with dynamic collaborative tools such as MS Teams, enabling seamless communication and collaboration in virtual environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Product Manager (CPM) preferred
  • Comfortable independently leading and completing tasks
  • Prior experience in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders across the spectrum
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills within and across teams
  • Experience with complex systems and solving challenging analytical problems
  • Previous medical/dental healthcare experience, claim domain knowledge and proficiency in delivering Commercial Claim projects within tight budgets and challenging timelines

Education

Bachelor's degree in a Business or IT field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $106,605.00 - $284,280.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
