As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping intuitive, engaging digital experiences for users. You'll lead the design of user-friendly interfaces for complex technical products, making them feel effortless to use. Drawing on your expertise in user research, design thinking, and interaction design, you'll collect insights, evaluate user needs, and transform them into elegant, accessible, and highly functional interfaces. Knowledge of user-centred design methodologies, information architecture, and usability principles gained through related roles.
Understanding of internet trends and web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX), and proficiency with AI-powered design tools (e.g., AI-assisted prototyping, automated design system generation, AI-driven user testing analysis, generative AI for design iterations).
Ability to evaluate the applicability of both traditional and AI-enhanced solutions for business needs.
Familiarity with project management principles and systems development lifecycles.
Some knowledge of market research techniques and the website/software development process.
Proven time management skills, with an ability to deliver work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong desire to design useful and usable solutions, with a passion for users.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including detailed report writing.
Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, facilitate workshops and design sessions, incorporate diverse stakeholder feedback, while also demonstrating self-direction and initiative when working independently.
Planning, facilitating, and leading workshops with clients (e.g., editors, product managers, business analysts, technologists, engineers) to define user interfaces, objectives, and target audience opportunities.
Gathering user requirements, developing and analysing customer/user profiles, and creating task scenarios for target segments.
Designing the user experience including information flows, interaction models, and the user interface.
Designing UI elements such as input controls, navigational components, and informational components.
Translating requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns, and attractive user interfaces.
Leveraging AI-powered design tools and techniques to accelerate prototyping, enhance user testing insights, and iterate on design solutions.
Creating deliverables including conceptual diagrams, site maps, interaction flows, storyboards, page/screen schematics/wireframes, help and instructional copy – all conforming to the organisation's user experience guidelines.
Conducting user testing including usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and other techniques.
Producing user test documentation and reporting on outcomes/recommendations to the team.
Contributing to the development of the experience design discipline by establishing standardised approaches, tools, processes, and deliverables that reflect best practice.
