The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis - Marketing supports a significant organizational investment, and oversees the full financial planning cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close, while also supporting strategic initiatives. The role leads monthly business reviews, manages the CMO Reserve for unplanned initiatives, and supports cost optimization efforts while also driving operational efficiencies and providing ad hoc analytical support.

Additionally, the role prioritizes talent development by guiding the team, fostering innovation, and promoting continuous improvement across processes and people. The role requires excellent leadership skills, robust communication, and strong financial acumen. Cross-functional collaboration and strong relationships with business partners, including Marketing and Finance, are critical for success in this role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the annual budget cycle, including managing through various iterations, executive alignment, and production of presentation materials for leadership reviews
  • Manage the routine forecasting cycle including weekly oversight of forecast changes, communication with Marketing to ensure alignment to current marketing plans and campaigns. Summarize and communicate forecast changes to Marketing and Finance leadership.
  • Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring proper expense treatment and compliance with financial controls, including quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Drive portfolio efficiencies through automation and process improvements
  • Other ad hoc analysis and support, as needed
  • Lead monthly business reviews with leadership and key stakeholders to review the portfolio, provide insight to marketing performance, and discuss high priority focus areas or topics needing a business decision
  • Manage the CMO Reserve, which provides flexibility for unplanned business initiatives. Including all funding requests and approved investments.
  • Support the Fuel for Growth cost optimization initiative, including identification of opportunities and routine reporting on value captured
  • Acquire and retain talent that supports our marketing investments, strategic initiatives and evolves/optimizes our business processes
  • Guide the team, including directing and prioritizing work
  • Place a high priority on team and individual development
  • Encourage teammates to identify innovative approaches to solve problems; facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change across the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience required
  • Retail background is preferred with an interest in marketing
  • Previous supervisory experience required
