Eaton is looking for our next Product Specialist to join our Power Systems Division in Waukesha, WI. We are looking for a technically minded person who wants to find their next opportunity on the business side of an Engineered-To-Order product. You will work with various aspects of the organization from front-end sales and marketing to manufacturing and you will see the projects and products you work on ship out the door.

This role is located at our Waukesha, WI site. No relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What You'll Do:

The primary function of the Product Specialist is to be a skilled technical communicator who creates a well written customer proposal based on a customer request for quote and/or a specification using the quotation system and process the customer's purchase order prior to Engineering design. They will also be a liaison for Sales and Engineering to respond to customer requests.

In this role you will:

  • Prepare and price Voltage Regulator proposals in response to RFQs; review specifications to identify requirements, exceptions, alternates, testing, documentation, and competitive options.
  • Process customer orders from internal and field proposals; verify POs and specifications, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate documentation for Design Engineering
  • Manage customer change, hold, and cancellation requests on open sales orders.
  • Approve and negotiate pricing within established guidelines using market and competitive knowledge.
  • Provide technical product and application support to customers, agents, and internal teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, engineering, and scheduling to ensure clear communication of special requirements.
  • Apply Lean principles and support continuous improvement, ISO work instructions, industry standards compliance (ANSI, IEEE, CSA, NEMA), and customer visits/plant tours.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business
  • Two (2) years of product, customer service, inside sales, or proposals experience in a technical field (may include internships or co-ops)
  • One (1) year of experience using ERP and quotation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in technical marketing, engineering, or manufacturing (may include internships or co-ops)

Skills:

  • Knowledge of electric power voltage regulators and their components and accessories.
  • Knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems, and standards for electric power voltage regulators.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills to support internal and external contacts within a multi-cultured environment.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), SAP or other ERP related system and the ability to utilize such tools to analyze data and solve routine problems.
  • Must be very customer and commercial centric.
