About the role

Fraud moves faster than AML; stop fraud before money leaves. We're looking for a product lead to rethink, design and implement best-in-class, customer-centric fraud controls for our products and processes at Ebury. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our customers and assets by developing and executing a comprehensive product strategy to combat evolving fraud threats across our diverse range of financial products and jurisdictions.

As we expand our capabilities across new verticals (i.e. embedded payments), new products (i.e. cards) and new payment rails (i.e. stablecoins ), tackling fraud is becoming a critical part of our strategy.

You will be working closely with Operations, Compliance, Engineering, Data and Security teams. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our security posture, drive innovation, and work at the forefront of fraud prevention. This role is ideal for someone passionate about staying ahead of trends, adapting quickly to changing regulations and emerging fraud patterns. This role reports to the Head of Financial Crime Intelligence Product.

Product ownership

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of emerging fraud trends, attacker methodologies, and industry best practices in B2B & B2C fraud prevention.
  • Be proactive and unearth vulnerabilities to pinpoint where the fraudster might strike. Balance growth vs risk trade-offs; design products/features that improve security across Ebury.
  • Formulate and drive a fraud tackling focused product strategy, ensuring alignment with overall Financial Crime Intelligence Product domain goals and company direction.
  • Own fraud controls across transactional fraud, document fraud, and behavioral anomalies.
  • Detect abnormal user behavior across onboarding, authentication, and payment journeys.
  • Translate the control gaps or breaches into a clear, actionable roadmap, ensuring timely and effective delivery across: - fiat to fiat transactions - fiat to crypto transactions (mainly stablecoins) - crypto to crypto transactions, card spends, internal processes and customer journeys

Stakeholder management

  • Partner with operational and compliance teams to ensure controls are effective.
  • Partner with Data Science teams on predictive AI models for customers journeys and transactions; model inputs, outputs, and thresholds (you are not expected to build machine learning models, but you must understand how predictive models behave in production).
  • Collaborate with Security teams on: account compromise, abuse patterns and attacker tooling and signals.

Delivery & execution

  • Design real-time and pre-authorisation fraud controls to prevent losses before execution.
  • Define step-up, blocking, and friction strategies based on risk signals.
  • Translate regulatory and risk requirements into clear product requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering on managing vendor integrations, event schemas, transaction & customer data models and system performance and scalability

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in fintech, crypto, payments, regulated financial services.
  • 4+ years' experience as a Product Manager.
  • 2+ years developing Anti-Fraud products.
  • Domain expertise in an area such as card fraud or transfer/payment fraud.
  • Experience managing AI products (nice to have), customer-facing products, and back office systems.
  • Experience leading vendor evaluations, integrations, and performance management.
  • Analytical thinking and proficiency with system design discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and geographies to drive alignment and execution. (nice to have) Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field. (nice to have) Experience building platforms that serve both B2B and B2B2C use cases.

What success looks like

  • Fraud tackling that scales across new products, verticals and rails.
  • Measurable reduction in fraud losses and false positives without undue customer friction or regulatory risk
  • Predictive models trusted by compliance and regulators.
