Chief Of Staff, Marketing (Remote, Nationwide)

At Edelman Financial Engines (EFE), our purpose is to guide people with the financial advice they need to thrive. We believe that every dollar saved represents a lifetime of hard work and aspirations, and every dollar invested has a job to do for our clients. That's why we are committed to managing our clients' investments by truly understanding them as people first and then delivering advice, strategies and solutions to help them feel confident about the plans they are making, whether for today, tomorrow, or in the great unknown future. Our goal is to build long-term relationships based on respect, integrity, and a belief that our responsibility is to help people make smart investments decisions in every stage of their lives. Our culture is grounded in our CORE values: Client First, One Team, Respectful Candor, and Endless Curiosity. These values guide everything we do, for our clients and each other. We are committed to moving forward together. If you are inspired by purpose-driven work and a collaborative, values-led culture, we invite you to explore a career with us. As Chief of Staff to the Marketing team, you'll play a central role in the transformation of Edelman Financial Engines' Marketing organization and Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy. You'll help lead critical initiatives across the team and serve as a trusted advisor to the CMO, ensuring that priorities are clear, communication flows efficiently, and decisions get made effectively. This is a chance to have broad business impact and help shape the future of the business, the brand, and the team at a pivotal moment for our organization. In this role, you'll extend the reach of the CMO, acting as a strategic partner and connector. Some days that means representing the CMO in important meetings; other days it means helping navigate organizational changes, building team culture, or driving integration processes with product. You'll bring a combination of business sense, problem-solving skills, and people leadership to anticipate challenges and keep the organization moving forward. We're looking for someone who thrives at connecting the dots: a connector, an organized and detail-oriented roll-up-your-sleeves operator, and a team builder all in one. If you want to apply your marketing expertise and leadership skills to drive impact at scale, this role may be right for you.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Advisory:

  • Serve as a thought partner and trusted advisor to the CMO and marketing leadership team.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on key business decisions; help develop and implement critical initiatives that align leaders and functions to shared goals.
  • Coordinate and prioritize critical issues and information for the CMO to facilitate effective decision-making; conduct weekly debriefs on key items.
  • Represent the CMO in select meetings, ensuring alignment of messaging and direction.

Organizational Design & Change Management:

  • Actively participate in organizational design and change management efforts, ensuring the team is supported through transitions.
  • Partner with HR to maintain scalable onboarding processes for new hires that promote consistent integration into the team.
  • Support top-talent development by building processes for career growth and progression.
  • Drive integration of new structures, tools, and processes to improve efficiency.

Team Effectiveness & Culture:

  • Build and lead the marketing engagement model: establish meeting cadences and alignment processes that encourage accountability and effectiveness.
  • Partner with the CMO and other key team members to align on performance indicators and track progress against goals.
  • Develop and lead team rituals that strengthen culture, collaboration, and performance.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration, serving as a bridge between executives and the Marketing organization.

Operational Excellence & Communication:

  • Oversee the department budget, orchestrating trade-off decision making conversations and participating in the annual planning and forecasting process.
  • Support preparation of executive-level materials such as board updates, leadership presentations, and communications that articulate the marketing vision and priorities.
  • Identify and address operational gaps, improving processes that enable the team to work more effectively.
  • Ensure visibility of priorities, progress, and outcomes across the organization.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in marketing
  • Proven track record in strategic roles requiring cross-functional influence and organizational leadership
  • Ability to foster high-performing, connected teams.
  • Strong influence and partnership skills; proven ability to align people and functions toward shared goals and "see around corners"
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and execution at pace
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Highest level of integrity and sound judgment; trusted, credible, and non-political
