Principal Strategic Product Expansion

Enpal Heat is the heat pump business unit of Enpal. We are market leaders and install more than 10,000 heat pumps per year.

In 2025, for the first time, more heat pumps than gas heaters were installed in Germany - the heat transition is in full swing! As the heating and cooling market in Germany remains very dynamic, we must continuously develop our product offerings and sales strategy in the heating sector.

The position advertised is located in the Product Team Heating. Here, all product management activities related to the heat pump are centrally bundled - including strategic product expansion. We work closely with the teams from sales, marketing, hardware engineering, software engineering, quality management, operational excellence, and procurement to offer our customers an attractive range of services around heating.

Projects that the team has successfully implemented recently include:

  • Introduction of the Enpal Heat Pump as an alternative to the Bosch Heat Pump
  • Development of a special electricity tariff for heat pump customers
  • Revision of our maintenance and service offer with regard to offer and pricing

Job Description

  • Actively shape our heating product portfolio and drive the strategic development of our offerings - from the idea to the scaled product line.
  • Establish a structured ideation, discovery, and evaluation process for new product ideas in the heating sector. You will accompany the ideas from the first concept to the scaled implementation (or disqualification).
  • Develop business cases based on market and potential analyses. In doing so, you will transform the ideas step by step into coherent business models. Here, you will engage in discussions with our (potential) customers as well as with the leadership of Enpal Heat to separate the wheat from the chaff.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility together with our technical experts, e.g., through pilot installations.
  • Finally, transform the best ideas into daily business with everything that goes along with it, including operational troubleshooting and finalized business-as-usual process integration.

Qualifications

  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience from a strategy consulting in combination with an industry background. You are the go-to person for strategic development and roadmap definition – but you can also switch to delivery mode anytime. You know: sales do not arise from the best concepts at the end, but from successful implementation.
  • You understand the workings of a heat pump at a solid level. You have studied mechanical engineering, energy technology, or something similar, or you have built up corresponding expertise through practical experience.
  • You firmly believe that a business model is only successful in the long term if it produces satisfied customers. Your motivation is to develop both the customer experience and Enpal as an organization with every product and project.
  • You have an outstanding gut feel: data-driven, yes – but also able to make clear management decisions even in uncertainties.
  • You work focused on a few prioritized projects, but you are also able to maintain a loose list of other potential topics – without losing focus.
  • You live product management as a team sport. You take your colleagues on the journey and bring them on board by being the driving force yourself and infecting them with your enthusiasm.
  • You can deal with ambiguity and chaos. In a dynamic market, you remain flexible, correct your course if necessary – but are mostly the calm pole that soberly sorts out and moderates wild ideas from stakeholders.
