Job Description:

Medical Strategy Planning

  • Develop and execute strategic medical plans for each product in alignment with local/regional/global brand strategies to maximize the product value.
  • Accountable for the medical plan in the cross-functional brand team either at the development stage or post-launch stage in an end-to-end manner

Evidence generation

  • Supervise, develop, and manage phase IIIb/IV studies, heath economics and outcomes research, or real-world evidence studies.
  • Review IIT protocols to ensure that the proposals are aligned with brand strategy and are within the area of interest of the product and track the study progress once started.

HCP Engagement

  • Reactively provide complex medical/scientific information to HCPs: this can include off-label information on launched products as well as information on investigational compounds.
  • Proactively train speakers for their better and deeper understanding of our products and clinical data to effectively and efficiently disseminate the brand message on doctor-to-doctor meeting opportunities.
  • Manage the scientific needs of key, influential physicians/investigators, medical associations, and academia by establishing long-term strategic relationships to build outstanding product awareness and advocacy.
  • Identify the medical gap through communication with KEEs and gather unmet medical needs to contribute to pipeline development.
  • Respond to unsolicited HCP requests (non-KEEs)

Congress and Meeting Support

  • Conduct medical presentations to KEEs/HCPs at scientific/medical/professional meetings or hospitals.
  • Attend conferences and staff booths and communicate insights.

Medical / Scientific resources within Ferring to step up internal medical leadership

  • Conduct medical/scientific training for MR.
  • Develop scientific knowledge by learning the latest intelligence through international/domestic congresses and publications.
  • Answers product-specific questions from medical and pharmaceutical customers as needed.

Team management

  • Leads a RM team to achieve: - optimal support and development of Key External Experts (KEEs) - high-quality medical and scientific support/communication to internal and external customers (e.g., ad-Boards, training courses/workshops).

Required Experience & Competences:

Minimum Education Requirements

  • MD, Ph.D., or PharmD in a medical specialty or equivalent combination of experiences and education

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Min 2+ years of Medical experience in RM or other therapeutic area from:

o Hospital/Clinic/university/research industry OR

o Pharmaceutical industry

  • Experienced in formulating and executing clinical studies is preferred
  • Able to understand complex scientific information and communicate this effectively
  • Team player with the ability to work under their initiative with a high work capacity by balancing priorities
  • Business fluency in English and Japanese
