As a New Product Development Engineering Co-op, you will work alongside our Product Engineers to support the New Product Development process, taking products from ideation to commercialization. In this position, you will support the development of products for Moen, Master Lock, Therma-Tru, Larson, Yale, August, and others as part of the Fortune Brands Innovations portfolio.
You will work with the team through the processes of material selection, analysis, and full design implementation. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and apply problem solving, work on cross-functional teams and learn about the product engineering process.
What you will be doing:
Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in hands-on engineering work.
Knowledge of mechanical design concepts for plastic, metal, and composite materials
Exposure to design methodologies such as DOE and Tolerance Stack-ups
Ability to independently organize work, manage timelines, and complete projects from start to finish.
Demonstrated initiative and motivation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Program Details
This co-op is a hybrid role based out of our North Olmsted, Ohio location. Students should be able to commute to the office for required on-site work and commit to a minimum of two semesters at 40 hours per week (with the option to extend up to four semesters).
