We're excited to be adding a Senior Product Designer to our growing team! This is an engaging and challenging opportunity that plays an integral role in shaping the development of our upcoming connected Master Lock and Yale & August B2B products. We are looking for a creative, user-obsessed and results-oriented product designer who wants to live on the edge of technologies that bring software and hardware together, within the connected home.
This position will report directly to the Senior Principal Product Designer. We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to support our efforts in building world-class solutions for our B2B products like Master Lock's cLOTO. You will play a key role in building smart security products that people love.
Position Location:
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with all work performed in San Francisco CA (or Deerfield, IL) where the candidate will be expected to be on-site 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
Responsibilities:
- Using your full range of skills (UX design, design thinking, interaction design, prototyping, visual design) to drive elegant user experiences that span digital (mobile, web) and physical (devices) interfaces to solve problems that matter to users.
- Owning design independently across multiple product areas throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.
- Consistently leveraging all available quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions and proactively identifying or creating new data sources when needed.
- Communicating and collaborating closely with software and hardware product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align on strategy and solutions.
- Advocating for changes, refinements, and ongoing improvements to the user experience, using data and design principles to drive decision-making.
- Working across the entire design stack: refining problem definitions, ideating solutions, iterating flows and interactions, building detailed prototypes, and producing high-fidelity visuals.
- Facilitating and leading workshops with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including journey mapping sessions, design sprints, and design critiques.
- Planning, leading, and synthesizing insights from user research and testing activities to inform product strategy.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of user experiences in accordance with design practices and standards.
- Collaborating with internal teams, ecosystem partners, and external stakeholders to create unified, seamless user experiences across multiple digital and physical touchpoints.
- Mentoring and supporting junior and mid-level designers through constructive feedback, design reviews to foster a collaborative, growth-oriented design culture.
