The Director, Product Management & Upstream Marketing is responsible for defining and driving the global portfolio strategy and lifecycle management, with a strong focus on profitability, competitiveness, and sustainability. The role leads the entry and value-segment strategy and ensures portfolio alignment with overall business objectives, particularly in highly price-sensitive and tender-driven markets. Your responsibilities:
- Define and drive the global portfolio strategy, including lifecycle management, optimization, and rationalization
- Lead the entry and value-segment strategy to ensure strong competitiveness in price-sensitive markets
- Manage portfolio trade-offs to balance growth, profitability, and complexity
- Identify and drive initiatives to improve cost, margin, and portfolio efficiency
- Align closely with value streams and senior leadership on portfolio priorities and decisions
- Partner with regional and country teams on pricing, tenders, and market-specific portfolio strategies
- Develop a deep understanding of competitive dynamics and define response strategies against low-cost competitors
- Support countries in the preparation and execution of requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Provide structured product and portfolio training in collaboration with HQ functions
- Build strong working relationships with global sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams
- Engage senior leadership with clear updates on portfolio performance, risks, and strategic initiatives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal SOPs
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or equivalent; MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Strategy, or General Management
- 15+ years of experience in product management within the medical device or healthcare industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated experience managing global portfolios across the full product lifecycle
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills across cross-functional and global teams, including the ability to lead and influence within complex matrix organizations without direct authority, with a self-motivated, results-oriented approach and comfort operating in dynamic and changing environments
- Deep market and therapy-area knowledge, ideally in dialysis or renal care
- Strong expertise in upstream marketing, portfolio strategy, and lifecycle management
- Medical-technical knowledge of hemodialysis products and therapies
- Experience or familiarity with digital marketing, marketing automation, and project management tools
