Marketing Manager

Established in 2002, General Fusion is a global leader in the race to commercialize clean fusion energy. We are pursuing a uniquely practical approach, Magnetized Target Fusion, and aim to provide zero-carbon fusion power to the grid in the early to mid-2030s. Today at our state-of-the-art labs in Richmond, BC, we're operating a groundbreaking fusion demonstration machine called Lawson Machine 26 (LM26), designed to achieve transformational technical milestones and accelerate General Fusion's technology to commercialization. Our path to market is funded by a global syndicate of leading energy venture capital firms, industry leaders, and technology pioneers.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director, External Relations, the Marketing Manager is a well-rounded expert in content development and project management who is comfortable using data to make strategic recommendations. A primary function of this role will be the ownership of the company's public facing marketing materials such as website, social media, videos and graphics. The incumbent will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and nimbly adjust tactics in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management for marketing communications initiatives, including scoping, scheduling, and budgeting, to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Support the development and execution of the annual marketing communications plan, aligning initiatives with organizational priorities.
  • Manage and analyze performance data across website, traditional media, and social media channels; translate insights into key performance indicators and actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare regular reports and provide strategic recommendations to management and executive leadership.
  • Develop compelling content that translates complex technical concepts into clear, engaging narratives tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Plan and oversee company participation in events, including advising on attendance, coordinating logistics, and developing supporting materials such as booths, collateral, and promotional items.
  • Contribute to other marketing and communications initiatives as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business Management or relevant field.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications and marketing, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading integrated campaigns with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills, able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • A strong communicator who can drive to consensus across cross-functional teams and effectively move materials through approvals.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools, such as Meltwater, and project management software such as Monday.com.
  • Experience with website and social media content management.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • An expert writer and communicator capable of clearly expressing recommendations and concepts to all levels of the organization and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with energy industry, clean tech, or advanced technology organizations preferred.

The typical hiring range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000. General Fusion considers many factors when determining total compensation, including job-specific or highly specialized knowledge, skills and experience, proficiency, job location and internal equity.
